Perry Ellis Spring 2015 Collection

IMG_7618Perry Ellis has been off the radar during fashion week for the past three seasons, with good reason obviously! When most people think of Perry Ellis, you think of a child or an adult man! Preferably in the stages of his parents are still dressing him or he’s older and loves the brand. With the debut during this NYFW Perry Ellis’s creative director Michael Maccari carter to a different age group more specifically the generation of people in their 20’s. He made the collection extremely more youthful and fun with bold abstract colors and strips especially with sweaters, and he was on trend with the sandal craze that isn’t on its way out anytime soon and paired them with socks! I must admit I was into it. Not only did he experiment with different shapes and colors everything was also extremely tailored which is extremely important for such a brand and the men of today’s world!IMG_7619
Michael also had fun with bags this season I’m sure he knows accessories are some of the biggest pieces for men today, and he offered up backpacks, thin fanny packs, and foldable clutch bags for men. He also did something different with his shoes instead of a basic sole he added a platform foam sole that looks like a hip space shoe. Not to mention he added patterns to his suits, and those suits stole the show. Especially the black & white concoction that walked the runway. Keeping the colors extremely neutral he used reds, white, browns, blues but with earth tones which keep everything from falling directly in line with the typical Spring pastel colors. For the young men or men who prefer the traditional Perry Ellis don’t fret the collection featured a traditional blue twill suit. Smart move boys!
