All hail Stefano Gabbana, and Domenico Dolce. Time after time again “que Cyndi Lauper” the men of Dolce & Gabbana deliver impeccable collections. Dolce & Gabbana is a house that’s known for their exquisite taste. I mean you don’t expect to receive 79 looks from most brands, it’s far and few in between when it comes to brands taking the time to create such quantity of looks. Let’s talk about pulling that entire collection. A mad house I’m sure! One must observe, or will come to observe is that this duo always finds inspiration from their
Sicilian roots. It’s almost always like an Italian Rodeo, a mock-up version of the days of the Indians verse the Europeans here in the states back when almost nothing existed. Shows such as the “The Lone Ranger, Buffalo Bill, and Little House on the Prairie“. Classics ! The opening look instantly reminded me of Leonardo Dicaprio’s movie The Revenant. It really is quite interesting to see this comparison. I’m starting to think he actually wore Dolce & Gabbana in that movie. If there was ever a cold enough day in New York City or if I were ever going to be in Alaska I now know where to turn. Quite a few beast made their debut on the runway, leaving me thinking where do I actually have to live to need to be this covered. One would also need to be outside for hours upon hours to keep from overheating. If there’s any brand out there besides Tom Ford that knows how to put the lux into luxury it’s Dolce & Gabbana not many people can grasp the concept of turning sweats into a luxury item.
I don’t think one understands the true magnitude of Dolce & Gabbana’s work until they’ve seen and touched a piece in person. Extremely delicate clothing, especially when it comes to the pieces that have embroidery on them. Now with a collection filled with embroidering how does one separate the good, from the great? You don’t! It’s all great. Silk lounge pieces that started to appear towards the end of this 80 count better yet 79 count collection. In between that madness, this duo also knows how to make things “kind of casual“; denim always shows up, they know not every guy wants to be in drenched in furs, silks, and velvets. Every brand has that casual costumer even if you’re making wedding dresses she may not want the most extravagant which keeps her family simple on the wedding scale, but in this case Dolce & Gabbana has a male customer that wants Dolce, but not the flashy Dolce. He wants designer, but just not noticeable designer, although he made need to go back a season for that being that this particularly denim also comes with Dolce’s stamp of embroidery. Until next time Joe!
