Let’s welcome a new brand to our archives shall we? Let me be more specific although I say new “HIROAKI KANAI” actually launched in 2013 so it didn’t debut 4weeks ago, but it’s nowhere near old. HIROAKI KANAI is a London based menswear designer with his latest collection for Spring/Summer 2015 being very Asian inspired. Simple yet Chic designs, and a use of fabric that rivals the house of Chanel, with one of their tweed Garments! I always gain new inspiration when I come across a new brand and new designers. Menswear is slowly, but surely becoming very prominent in this Billion-dollar industry, although some may argue that a luxury menswear market isn’t needed I think we all know I disagree.
With HIROAKI KANA being trained under Haider Ackermann he definitely received an honorable course in contemporary menswear, and how to execute it perfectly. The way most designers give their full attention to the women’s line of a collection if they offer both menswear and womenswear, HIROAKI took that same attention and focused it on his line which gives a contemporary twist to classicism with firm tailoring for lighter structure of the garments.
