From New York, Milan, London, and Paris fashion week I’ve seen quit a few designers feature a trend I like to call “Shine” For their spring/summer 2014 collections. Usually anything shiny, metallic-like, sequined, or embroidered tends to register in most peoples head as festive or holiday-esque clothing, but now designers have taken the festivities to spring and summer for 2014 and it’s one trend I love! Rather the trend is being used to accentuate the design or figure, or used to be a commentary on the age of fashion that we’re in with the mixing of materials to create new ideas for older silhouettes fashion is SHINING ON and making a statement for 2014! Now dip below and take a look at some of my favorite designers to adopt the trend!
From New York City I’d have to say MARC JACOBS led the shine trend with his debut of his ss14 collection! While a lot of designers opted to go with the whole 90’s revival and minimal approach this season Marc came out with glitz and wearable glitz that can go from the runways to the streets! How chic?!
PROENZA SCHOULER showed us how shine can be used In a more minimalistc approach while still being chic! Shine doesn’t have to be over done.
ALTUZARRA showed you how to make the shine trend sexy! Show of your womanly figure in style but most importantly tastefully!
JASON WU kept it chic and wearable, you can dress shine up or down!
TOM FORD of course given who he is gave his take on the shine trend and it’s nothing less than perfection! Feeling bold enough to rock these looks? I will commend you!!
CHRISTOPHER KANE put his own special spine on shine this season with his collection and in usual Kane fashion it’s nothing short of an art piece! and check out his cool shoes! Awesome right?!
HOUSE OF HOLLAND showed how you can accessorize with shine, by maybe adding a jacket, a cute heel, or even a belt! This is a great way to get into the shine trend without going overboard.
BURBERRY PRORSUM, can we just talk about how much I love these skirts? Gorge!
ROCHAS gave shine a mod 70’s twist while keeping it chic and less restricting than the previous collections above! love!
LANVIN added shine to more than half of their spring collection and I have to say I’m obsessed!
DRIES VAN NOTEN showed how shine should be presented through their vision at their Paris showing! love!
