Got to attend the DUCKIE BROWN spring summer 2014 collection and have to say this is by far one of my favorite menswear shows that I’ve attended! I’ve always been a fan of the brand so getting to attend the showing has been one of my highlights so far for NYFW!
Let’s get to the clothing!
Loved the simplicity of the color palette used in the collection from tans, whites, browns, golds, blacks, and navy blues it was a great way to introduce what is considered such a forward thinking menswear collection! In some aspects based on the cuts, fit, and actual pieces some would find this a tad unwearable for the average man but here I think its all about dissecting the look by pieces to get the “look” that works for you. I for one am totally loving the idea of having some of the looks straddle the fence of what’s feminine and what’s masculine. The whole time I was watching the show I visually got a 90s chic factory worker but the the music being played was full of bounce and a fierceness that captured the essence of what I think the collection was about duality, hard and soft. I’m always excited to see Duckie Brown present a collection you can always expect something different and fresh which menswear is in desperate need of!
