Black Sail By Nautica Men’s Spring 2014 Collection

I was granted access to Black Sail By Nautica Men’s Spring 2014 Show, and I must say It made me want to hit the gym. Menswear is my niche, and I stick to it, because us men need attention too. From color blocking, to the asymmetrical piecing. Bright colors paired with neutral tones, and an array of different fabrics gave this menswear collection not only different looks, but a different feel for the spring & summer time.nautica4Being that this was my first time attending any show by Nautica I wasn’t quite sure what to expect as far as runway goes although I’ve always keep up with the brand as this was all my mother dressed me in as a child, and I can honestly say Black sail delivered a very refreshing look. nautica5I loved the whole laid back feel of the whole collection, total opposite of how I’m usually dressed. I swear this collection made me want to take a vacation! Let’s talk Miami! South Beach to be more specific.

This collection was like the perfect mix of the two seasons.. the cool spring weather that still lingers around during April that you need a sweater or pullover for “up north anyhow” and the approaching summer months with the incorporation of shorts, and the lighter fabrics.Backstage

I couldn’t leave you all without behind the scene visuals! First things first I caught up with two of the male models from the show. Nautica7

First Up! On the left is Ricky Owens! Yes I Made the comparison! I said Rick Owens! Had to! I noticed him on the runway, didn’t think I would see him backstage, but I did! His first look was a Pearl grey cotton/nylon rope baja sweater (looks comfy) with washed navy textured nylon cargo sport pants! His second look featured a Coral printed linen pullover, paired with Navy nylon shape memory pleated shorts. Both of his looks are pictured above in this post! Congrats Ricky! Hope to see you in more shows. Next Up! On the right! Anderson Last name not Cooper! Moving On! Anderson’s first look was composed of a Chalk laminated mesh sailing bomber Pumice Grey linen slub relaxed crewneck sweater paired with Black nylon shape memory cargo pants!
