Had the chance to attend the Afro Punk 2013 festival! And I must say I had a blast! Great music and LOTS of personal style on display! If you’ve never heard of the Festival its an annual two day event that’s held in Brooklyn, it features a slew of music acts ranging from new to old and the music various from rock, rap/hip hop, neo-soul, and jazz. This year had great line up just to name were Theophilus London, Jada Pinkett Smiths group Wicked Wisdom(who I unfortunately missed), Rye Rye, and Mykki Blanco.
What I love most about this Festival is what it represents well at least to me is unity, love, and acceptance. Its great seeing different types of people with different types of backgrounds come together and support good music, fun, food, and FASHION. Fashion is one of the biggest draw points to the event! People pretty much come on full display to show their personal style, which is what I stand for doing everyday BEING YOU!
All in all it was a great weekend to get together with my friends and just enjoy life in this busy city we live in! PARTY!!!
